The fly stakes held firm in loose desert soil on a windy night, and the Oxford shell shed a surprise hailstorm without a sag. I packed it down small enough to strap on my daypack for a canyon overnighter and barely noticed the weight.

The Oxford polyester fabric did exactly what I needed on a rocky desert ledge, shrugging off scrapes that would’ve shredded my old tent floor. I’ve used it three times now, and it still feels light enough to barely notice in my pack.

Set it up in about five minutes on a rocky canyon ledge and the Oxford polyester shrugged off the wind without a flutter. For 2 pounds it feels more solid than tents twice the weight, and the interior stayed cool as the desert sun hit.
